From the Soul of Philly Mel Alston grew up imitating and studying artists such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, BabyFace and Luther Vandross to name a few. As a child, Mel was also very inspired by his mother, Renee Alston, to play piano, which led to him learning to play trombone and trumpet.
Mel Alston Jr, has performed at over 25 different venues throughout the tri state area. He is a song writer, vocalist, and vocal arranger.
Be on the look out for his LP to be released in spring on 2012.
After listening to this mixtape from Intro to End I feel it has a Collective Blend from Hood Anthem tracks like “Always 1st Class and “Brooklyn Bull Sh*t” to Romantic Rap Serenades like “Take Home To Mom” and “BBM”.
Lyrically the album is winning. Production is cool.
My favorite song on the Mixtape is BBM!!! And also happens to be my ring tone.

Q: Where did the Mixtape name “No Decency” come from?
NYMI: No decency came from a quick freestyle I wrote, alot of people liked it and the name kinda caught people’ ears so I decided to name the mixtape No Decency.
Q: Are you selling your mixtape or singles anywhere? Or is it mainly free download?
NYMI: Right now the mixtape is mainly for download
Q: How has the response been from your fans since you dropped the Mixtape?
NYMI: The response from my fans has been great!! I’ve gained fans from all over the country and the loyalty my fans show is what inspires me the most.
Q: What sites did you release your Mixtape on?
NYMI: My mixtape can be downloaded off the following sites: iamnymi.tumblr.com , tweetmymixtape.com, nukeknocka.com and mixtapepromo.com
Q: How many downloads have you gotten so far?
NYMI: I’m not sure far as the downloads because you can download it from various sites, but in the first week it had about 2,000 listens and about 40 downloads from my site.
Q: Pick one song on the album you would say is your favorite?
NYMI: I would have to say “Take u home to mom” is my fav song.
Q: My favorite song on “No Decency 2” is: BBM!! What was the inspiration for that song? And did you ever try to pitch it to Blackberry? If not, you should!
NYMI: Well my boy Cee Jizz came to me with the hook and said he needed me to spice it up and I really didn’t have any commercial joints at the time so it was a good look, never tried to holla at blackberry, that would be nice tho lol.
Q: So you’re an independent artist right? Would you ever consider signing with a label? If so, which one?
NYMI: Yea, very independent. Don’t mind signing with a label if paperwork is right, but I would rather create my own lane and try to start up my own label.
Q: What’s Next?
NYMI: Strategy and planning!! Sit and build on how to make my next project better than my last, how to reach more people and how to go up a step feel me.

On Sunday, October 9th I sent my agent (Theo Caesar) an email to ask him a quick business question. I was happy to receive a fast reply however, my happiness was quickly saddened with the news he shared. He let me know about the passing of a fellow actress Orit Shuckroon.
I never had a chance to meet her in person but I did have the pleasure in being a part of a project she recently finished. My heart goes out to her family!
Orit Shuckroon passed on 10/9/11. And it will take a few weeks to determine the cause for her death. But please lets remember her and pray for her family.
I was told her wish was to be known Worldwide for her love of acting and modeling.

The line as an overall is very cohesive,with pops of color. Really loved the playful mixture of fur, leather and textures. My ultimate fav shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti designed and produced all the shoes in the show.
